Objective

To design and implement a single extensible C++ codebase that serves as the cross-platform driver framework for the Client’s agent on Windows, Linux and macOS, and validate its functionality through comprehensive testing.

Solution

The solution installs as a lightweight multi-OS agent (Windows, Linux, macOS) to prevent insider threats and data leaks by enforcing policies at the OS level. Out-of-the-box capabilities delivered from a single platform include:

  • Screen Watermark: real-time, user-specific dynamic marks on all on-screen content to trace leaks

  • Printing Watermark: unique, audit-ready marks on printed documents

  • AntiCopy & PrintScreen Prevention: blocks copy/paste and screen-capture tools

  • MobileMark: persistent, non-removable watermarking on Android devices

  • WebMark: SDK for embedding watermarks into proprietary web applications

These features ensure clear data ownership, full forensic traceability and regulatory compliance in multiple domains. Altabel’s C++ developer contributed to:

  • Developing cross-platform core: he populated and extended the unified C++ codebase that underpins the agent on all three operating systems 

  • Creating driver skeletons: he built minimal OS-specific “skeleton” drivers for Windows, Linux and macOS that load and exercise the shared core library

  • Testing: he executed comprehensive unit and integration tests against the core library and its driver skeletons to validate correct driver loading, event interception and runtime stability
