E-Learning Platform for Clinicians

About the Client

The Client is an innovative MedTech startup from Switzerland with patented technology for visualizing morphological microstructures during surgeries. The company focuses on enhancing surgical precision by enabling clinicians to better interpret microscopy data in real time.

Objective

The objective was to develop a comprehensive online training platform designed specifically for clinicians to enhance their understanding of microscopy morphology content and improve their ability to interpret images for more informed decision-making in cancer treatment.

Solution

A streamlined educational platform for clinicians with three main modules:

Basic training

Provides foundational knowledge on morphology for breast and prostate cancer. Includes multiple chapters with reading materials and quizzes. Progress requires passing scores to unlock subsequent content.

Advanced training

Expands on basic knowledge and adds tools for image interpretation. Features an interactive image viewer for navigation, annotation and submission. Annotations are reviewed to provide feedback and support learning.

Final review

Clinicians meet with histology experts for knowledge validation and certification.

Additional Features:

• User dashboard: tracks progress, scores, estimated time and learning roadmap.
• Role-based paths: tailored for different specializations (e.g., surgeons, pathologists).
• Distributor support: allows tracking and assisting clinicians by region.

The platform is live, tested, refined through user feedback and actively maintained by Altabel. Future enhancements include:

• Forum for histology community – for discussion, Q&A and knowledge sharing.
• BI integration – to analyze user behavior, performance and UX feedback.
• Scoring and review automation – for Final Review efficiency.
• Demo platform – to reduce onboarding anxiety with curated content and interactive features.

Result

Over 200 clinicians across Europe and beyond have used the platform to train with Histolog Scanner, achieving >90% average scores post-training.

The platform also gained investor approval as a sales and onboarding asset, strengthening the Scanner’s market positioning.
